You are a wizard with a magic connection to a Blizzard Ball. The Ball works like a pendulum with you as the anchor. 

Swing the Ball around and swap places with it to use the momentum to clear gaps and reach higher platforms. 

Torches melt the magic chain links and kill you and the Ball.

Controls:

A <-> D: Horizontal Movement

W or Space: Jump

J / K: Decrease/Increase Chain length

L: Swap places with the Blizzard Ball

R: Reset the Level

Enter: Skip the Level
